My soul grown deep like the rivers. Creating emotional audiopapers.
Í þrjá daga munu þátttakendur í vinnustofunni lesa og ræða ólíka texta sem tengjast hugmyndum vatnsfemínisma (e. hydrofeminism) og umhyggju. Þátttakendur reyna að túlka texta eða ljóð með því að búa til tilfinningalegar hljóðritgerðir sem eru opnar í eðli sínu og víkja sér undan skilgreiningu. Þar getur verið um að ræða blöndu af hljóðum og lestri eða söng. Það mikilvægasta er einlægni og umhyggja þess sem hlustar.
Um listakonuna
Wiola Ujazdowska er listakona og búsett á Íslandi. Hún stundar doktorsnám í listum við listakademíuna í Gdańsk í Póllandi. Meginviðfangsefni doktorsverkefnis hennar er að skapa sjónræna hluti og listaverk til þess að rannsaka það sem tekur við af mannöldinni og hvað geti vaxið og dafnað í rústunum eftir hrun hins iðnvædda heims. Hún starfar sem sviðshönnuður fyrir sjálfstæða leikhópa og danshöfunda og er einnig listrænn stjórnandi hátíðarinnar VOR/WIOSNA sem haldin er á vegum MMF/Sláturhússins á Egilsstöðum og alþjóðlega verkefnisins ACT_IN_OUT (PL/IS/NO).

Everyone is welcome. Especially multilingual people or people that their native language is neither English or Icelandic. Workshops also encourage people speaking with different accents.
My soul grown deep like the rivers. Creating emotional audiopapers.
For three days participants of the workshops will read and discuss different texts that connect to ideas of hydrofeminism and care. Participants will then try to create their interpretation of a text or poem, creating emotional audiopapers in a formula that is open or running away from definition. It could be mixtures of sounds, reading or singing. What is most important is the honesty and care of the listener.
Registration for the workshop is required. It is preferred that participants attend all three sessions, but it is also an option for participants to join for one or two sessions if unable to commit to all three.
About the artist
Wiola Ujazdowska is an artist and art worker living in Iceland. She is ph.d candidate in Fine Arts program at The Art Academy in Gdańsk, Poland. The main focus of her artistic ph.d research is the creation of visual objects and artworks that are presenting explorations of what will be after the anthropocene, and what can ”grow” on the post-industral ruins. Wiola has worked as a set designer for independent theaters and choreographers as well a curator of VOR/WIOSNA festival produced by MMF/Slaturhusid in Egilsstadir and ACT_IN_OUT international project (PL/IS/NO).
