the body symphonic er tónleikagjörningur þar sem líkaminn er bæði hljóðfæri og safn. Verkið sprettur upp úr þjóðfélagslegu umróti í Líbanon á síðustu árum og þar er tekist á við minni, áföll og seiglu í gegnum hreyfingar, lifandi tónlistarflutning og mannsröddina. Prince stendur á sviðinu ásamt slagverkssnillingnum Joss Tornbull og vefar saman upptökur, ljóðalestur og hrynjandi þannig að úr verður margbrotið form þar sem dans verður að hljóði og hljóð verður að dansi. Verkið sem er í senn hugleiðing, hreinsun og bæn hverfist um mótstöðukraft líkamans og framsetningu sjálfsins. Það vekur hugleiðingar um mögulega framtíð þar sem nýjar goðsögur og framtíðir geta raungerst, lausar undan hernámi, nostalgíu og utanaðkomandi augnaráðs.

the body symphonic is a solo performance-concert that translates the body into both instrument and archive. Emerging from Lebanon’s recent upheavals, the work traverses memory, trauma, and resilience through movement, live music, and voice. Joined on-stage by virtuoso percussionist Joss Turnbull, Prince weaves together field recordings, poetic recitations, and percussion to create a hybrid form where choreography becomes sound and sound becomes choreography. At once meditation, purge, and prayer, the body symphonic insists on the body’s power as a site of resistance and self-representation. It gestures toward futurist imaginaries, where new mythologies and futures unfold beyond occupation, nostalgia, and external gaze.
