AFROFEST er sviðsett Afrobeats × Amapiano DJ-sett með lifandi dansi þar sem tónlist og dans deila forgrunni. Viðburðurinn tengir saman tónlistarhefðir frá Nígeríu, Suður-Afríku og víðari afrískum menningarheimum. Hér er rými fyrir dans, tónlist og nánd — staður til að koma saman og vera í stemningunni. Afrobeats og Amapiano koma úr menningu þar sem tónlist og dans eru hluti af daglegu lífi — í samkomum, vináttu, ást, fögnuði og lífsstíl. Hljóðið, takturinn og hreyfingin fara beint í líkamann og smitast náttúrulega milli fólks. Eitt af aðalmarkmiðum viðburðarins er að kynna þessa tónlist og menningu hér á Íslandi — menningu sem gengur út á að fólk komi saman, dansi og deili gleðinni sem fylgir því að hreyfa sig í tónlist saman.

AFROFEST is a staged Afrobeats × Amapiano DJ set with live dance, where music and movement share the foreground. The work celebrates African cultural expression, communal rhythm and the energy of moving together, tracing connections between Nigeria, South Africa and the wider African diaspora. It invites the audience into a space shaped by rhythm and movement — built for dancing, listening and being together. Afrobeats and Amapiano come from cultures where music is part of everyday life — in gatherings, dance, friendship, love and celebration. The melodies, the log drum, the movement — these sounds are felt in the body and passed naturally between people. Bringing this event to Iceland is about opening space for that experience here — to share the sound, the culture, and the joy of moving together through music.
