DOPA

Hvað gerist ef við söfnum saman listafólki í stutta stund til þess að skapa og gera tilraunir í eins konar hackerspace-andrúmslofti?

DOPA er bæði teymi og sköpunar- og samvinnuaðstaða. Við vinnum með efniviðinn út frá aðstæðum hverju sinni, beitum notendavænum verkfærum, nýtum það sem til er á hverjum stað, allt í anda samvistarnálgunar. Listafólkið skuldbindur sig til skamms tíma til þess að starfa og læra hvert af öðru í aðstæðum sem einkennist af gagnkvæmu trausti.

DOPA stendur fyrir dópamín sem er iðulega lýst sem því efni sem gerir okkur helst kleift að upplifa unað og gleði. Í lyfjafræðinni er dópamín einnig talið leika stórt hlutverk þegar hegðun er styrkt með verðlaunum og hefur því afar hvetjandi áhrif.

DOPA er verk í vinnslu þar sem ýmiss konar form leggjast hvert yfir annað – steppdans, stafrænar varnir, DIY-hópar, skemmdarverk, opinn aðgangur, gildrur, netfemínismi og jafningjasamskipti.

Í þetta sinn mun DOPA vaxa og dafna í Reykjavík. Hittumst þar <3.

DOPA

What if you gathered artists for a brief moment, to experiment and create, in sort of a hackerspace mood ?

DOPA is a team and a performative and collective situation with a structure designed to include a generative process, the fabrication of its materials drawn from singular contexts using user-friendly tools, available means, and the practice of commoning. 

Artists make a short-term commitment, of mutual trust and learning.

DOPA stands for ‘dopamine’. In popular culture, it is described as the main chemical for experiencing pleasure and enjoyment. In the pharmacological world, it is also thought to play a big part in the behaviour that is reinforced by reward – thus having a strong motivational effect.

DOPA is a work in progress, where various formats are crossing each other ~ ~ ~ tap dance, digital defense, diy circuits, sabotage, free access, traps, cyberfeminism, peer to peer.

This time DOPA will grow in Reykjavik. This is an encounter <3..

Anne Lise Le Gac, Loto Retina and Anat Bosak are based in France and work together as a team of makers dealing with sound, installation, performance, music, texts, scenography.
