An exhibition by Margrét Bjarnadóttir.

Choreographer Margrét Bjarnadóttir exhibits a series of works reflecting on the transformative quality of doubt. These pieces for the gallery – including video installations, works on paper, and photographs –  highlight Margret´s continuing fascination with the double nature of reality. She explores how words are hidden within words, how landscapes contain other landscapes, and how she only dances when necessary.

Margrét Bjarnadóttir completed a BA in choreography at ArtEZ in Arnhem, Holland, in 2006.  She has since been working in the field of dance, theatre, literature and visual arts. Her works include An Episode of Human Behaviour (2007), the first radio dance piece, in collaboration with the Icelandic National Radio and The Icelandic Dance Company, Strength Through Embarrassment (Aerowaves, London, in 2008) and Humanimal, created with the stage collective Me and My Friends. In 2010 Margrét received an 8 months residency at  K3 – Tanzplan Hamburg, where she created the stage work On Misunderstanding. From that research, she made the photographic series No Misunderstanding. Margrét has collaborated with artist Elín Hansdóttir on site specific video installations, most recently at Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art in Copenhagen. Margrét also took part in the month long performance The Palace of The Summerland by Ragnar Kjartansson and Friends  at the TBA21 in Vienna last April. She is currently completing her MA in Creative Writing at the University of Iceland.
