||| RDF ||| believes in getting people together in shared situations that cast us – through dance, dancing, and choreography – toward the world we live in.

along the way – we give priority to those local and slightly–less local artists that are working with dance, dancing and choreography in the ways we find most challenging.

supporting them to make and share their work – here and abroad. not just once, but time and time again, over time.

in this, ||| RDF ||| takes the long view.

supporting those artists through both residency and presentation opportunities.

currently ||| RDF ||| is Iceland's only international festival for dance, dancing, and choreography.

our ever-growing community of audience is tremendously important too. both those here in Iceland – but also the increasing number of those that are traveling from further afield to be with us.

each year ||| RDF ||| delivers an international and local multiple-format programme

(performances, concerts, lectures, readings, publications, radio broadcasts, dinners, breakfasts, parties)

that seeks to give a rich depth of access points to the work of the choreographers we work with.

this is our mission statement.

RDF is led by an artistic team of two curators Alexander Roberts and Ásgerður G. Gunnarsdóttir, as well as managing director Hlynur Pálsson.

this team will be in place until the 2016 edition.

and there is no way of knowing yet what they can do together. but for sure they will not be doing it alone. and it will be those they decide to do it with – that shape what they do...

for a first glimpse of who will be joining them check back here sometime in the SPRING for a list of names.

until then the FUTURE is all of ours to blindly speculate.
